September 1, 2005 Dear David, I just wanted to send this note to thank you for the wonderful experience of training with you. As you know, I had some serious back issues and had grown to be afraid to simply "move" for fear of re-injuring my back and being in pain again. When you have such severe pain for such a prolonged period of time, you begin to doubt whether the simplest movement -- removing the dishes from the dishwasher, walking to the car in the snow -- will cause a back disaster. Once I started working with you and gained some perspective on just how the support of my back becomes essential to good body mechanics, I started to have the confidence to exercise again with some consistency. I have learned from you what moves are "healthy," and what moves will always be "dangerous" and should be avoided. Even on days where my back wasn't the best, I went to the gym anyway, and actually felt better once I started moving. This has been a great experience for me. I have learned from you that careful planning of an exercise regime in the beginning was the key to getting me up and moving on a regular basis. My back is feeling better, for sure, but more importantly, I am feeling better mentally. Thank you, again, for all your support.
